Dr. Vijay Desai is an experienced Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Ajman University. He holds an MDS in Periodontics from Dharwad University and a BDS from Bombay University, India. With over two decades of academic and clinical experience, Dr. Desai is known for his strong expertise in periodontal disease management, dental education, and research.

He teaches Clinical Periodontics I & II and is an active course coordinator. His research contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications focusing on periodontal pathogens, antimicrobial agents, and oral-systemic health links. He has also been recognized with numerous awards for research, poster presentations, and academic excellence.

Dr. Desai plays a key role in student engagement and institutional development, serving as:

• Chairman of the AU Student Scientific Conference

• Coordinator of the Mobile Dental Bus and Medical Waste initiatives

• Advisor to multiple student clubs

He has delivered lectures and presentations at international dental conferences across the UAE and abroad and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology.
